The process for requesting access to GEFA services is structured as follows:
- Project Initiation: to formally start a project, please complete the DG_form.
- Primary bioinformatics analysis support: it can be requested by filling out the DA_form.
- After the project submission, you will receive a unique “project ID”, which is essential for identifying your project and tracking its progress.
- Reagents shipment: a list of required reagents will be provided; these must be shipped to GEFA.
- Samples shipment: before shipping any DNA/RNA samples or libraries, the appropriate form must be completed and submitted: the SS_form* for samples or the LIB_form* for libraries.
- Sample Quality Control: all samples and libraries will undergo quality/quantity checks as an initial evaluation. A QC outcome will be communicated to the user, informing on whether the sample has passed or failed.
- Data Availability: once the raw data and/or primary analysis results are ready, a notification will be sent to the project owner.
- Data Access Request: please fill out the DAR_form; a staff member will manage the process.
- Sample Retention: after the project completion, samples/libraries will be stored for 3 weeks before being discarded.
- Data Retention: all data is securely stored and backed up in the central ICT storage system.
(*)SS_form/LIB_form: available upon request at gefa@iit.it
Planning and Reservation (Estimated Wait Times)
Waiting times for each service begin once the samples and their respective reagents are available in our laboratory, following the FIFO (First In, First Out) principle.
Users will be notified as soon as the project is scheduled.
Privacy Policy and Data Use
The facility guarantees the highest level of confidentiality and security for the data provided, in compliance with current regulations. All generated data remain the property of the user, unless otherwise specified in the project agreements, and access to the data is restricted to authorized personnel only.
